Colorful stage set with a large, curved backdrop featuring a landscape of trees and sky, with a painted floor resembling a river and land, in a theater with empty black chairs.

Flats

Technical blueprint of a stage set for Michigan Tech Theatre's production of 'Men on Boats,' including measurements and construction notes.

Broadway style scenic flats with plywood top plate to create shape. All skinned with luan and covered with muslin fabric for a smooth projection surface.

Flat Installation

The image shows a theatrical stage set under construction with wooden panels and scaffolding, and black curtains in the background.

All standing flats installed using sash and cleat methodology, using custom made cleats made from wooden dowel rod

Meanwhile the hanging flats where attached together before installation by the use of plywood ribs to maintain shape, then hung with pin hinges.
